University Of Toronto

The University Club of Toronto was based by alumni of the University of Toronto with the aim of building a lunch club for university graduates.

The originators of the University Club were G.F. McFarland, H.L.Hoyles and A.C.Snively, WHO convened the primary lunch on Columbus Day, 1906. They met in associate degree higher area over what was then Davey's building at the southwest corner of King and Bay Streets. The cluster met each Friday for lunch. New member admissions caused the meeting places to vary, initial to a personal area at the St. Charles eating house at the corner of Yonge and Colborne Streets, then to 2 rooms at thirty six 1/2 King Street East. within the meanwhile, another cluster of university graduates had been meeting for similar functions. On Gregorian calendar month twenty three, 1909, the 2 teams amalgamated, and also the Club was formally incorporated.
